How it works

Your visit, step by step.

No surprises, no jargon. Here is exactly what happens from your first phone call to final fit at our West Wodonga clinic.

Step 01

Assessment

We check which teeth are doing what, and whether a partial denture is the right long-term option for your mouth. No obligation if it turns out something else suits you better.

Step 02

Frame choice

Metal frame for strength and discretion — or a flexible frame for comfort and no visible clasps. We’ll walk you through both options and recommend based on your teeth and lifestyle.

Step 03

Precision fit

Digital scans help the frame sit accurately against your remaining teeth, protecting them from movement and wear. All done in our in-house lab in West Wodonga.

Step 04

Review

One-week and six-week reviews come standard. Small adjustments are quick and included — because the first fit is rarely the last word.

Partial dentures in Albury–Wodonga — a long-term investment in your remaining teeth

When a tooth is missing, the ones beside it can drift inward over time, changing your bite and putting strain on healthy teeth. A well-designed partial denture from a specialist prosthetist holds that space and protects what you still have — which is why getting it right from the start matters.

How it feels to wear one

The first week you will notice it — that is completely normal. By the second week most Albury–Wodonga patients say they forget they are wearing it. The follow-up reviews in weeks one and six are specifically there to catch any rubbing or pressure points early.

Looking after it

Out at night, stored in a container of water, and brushed like a natural tooth. That is it. Simple care routine, long-lasting result.

Questions

Things patients usually ask.

Will my natural teeth be affected?
A well-fitted partial denture should not damage your natural teeth. In fact, it protects them by preventing neighbouring teeth from drifting into the gap. We check the clasps carefully at every review to make sure there is no undue pressure on the teeth they attach to.
Can you see the clasps?
With a metal frame partial, small clasps grip the adjacent teeth for stability — these are usually positioned toward the back of the mouth and are not obvious when you speak or smile. If visible clasps are a concern, a flexible frame partial has no metal clasps at all. We will show you both options at your consultation.
How long does it last?
Partial dentures typically last 5 to 7 years with proper care. Over time your gum line changes, which can affect the fit. If your partial starts to feel loose or uncomfortable, come in — a reline or adjustment is often all that is needed rather than a full replacement.
